NatureTurks

An Environment Conservation focussed learning initiative.

In an era where we are largely disconnected from nature, it is important to make a real investment in understanding our environment. NatureTurks is a commitment to provide environmental education with an urban context to grow citizens who champion nature conservation.

The various modules of the program sensitise students on the impact of various human developments that affect the environment. Through experiential and relational learning of Forests, Water, Farming and Food, the program strives to pave way for Transformational Leadership to translate into positive environmental action in institutions and communities.

The Participant Experience

Time Amidst Nature
Each module of NatureTurks is delivered in a set of carefully chosen conservation zones around the world. The verdant settings provide every participant a refreshing launchpad for their explorations into nature.
Terrain Sense
Billions of years old formations, and weather conditions have a profound effect on everything ground up - Flora, Fauna, Thought, Culture, Agriculture, Design and Economy. Our modules take participants on an immersive blend of hikes & trails in the local terrain to keenly observe the often ignored, even invisible geological elements around us in order to build an effective context for the journey there after.
Nature Connection
Within each natural habitat, a million interdependencies make symbiotic sustenance possible. Participants trek through the hills and woodland and pay deliberate attention to every stakeholder in this landscape – trees, animals, insects, humans, communities, the very geography. By identifying the myriad interdependencies that make up this ecosystem they examine how this knowledge resonates with them and begin the process of shaping their own bond with our forest habitats.
Introspect on our Human Journey
The sheer variety of experiences in our programs creates an environment that fosters introspection. Whether it is a trek, a farming activity or a discussion, the act of engaging with nature stokes each participant’s curiosity and drives them to examine every aspect of their experience. We combine aspects of future thinking and sustainability to give participants an additional yet essential set of issues to apply their thoughts on.
